Join us for a conversation with local filmmaker, psychologist, and author Ben Patton. Ben will share stories and insights about his grandfather (World War II’s General George S. Patton, Jr) and father (the late Major General George S. Patton IV), as well as home movie footage from the Patton family archives.
Benjamin is a filmmaker, psychologist and author. He is Founder and Executive Director of the Patton Veterans Project, a non-profit organization that holds collaborative filmmaking workshops as a gateway therapy for veterans coping with post-traumatic stress who are reluctant to seek care. PVP is now partnering with major VA hospitals to reach isolated veterans in rural areas help reduce suicide and suicidal ideation.
The son of the late Major General George S. Patton IV and grandson of World War II’s General George S. Patton, Jr., Ben has been associated with the military all his life. He is the author of the 2012 memoir of his father, Growing Up Patton.
Prior to founding PVP, he worked in music and film in New York, both a producer and development executive. Ben earned his BA at Georgetown University and MA in Developmental Psychology at Columbia University. He and his family split their time between New York City and Garrison, NY.
