Join us for our final concert of the year with classical and contemporary guitarist Austin Charnis.
Austin studied guitar performance at the State University of New York at Fredonia and received his Bachelor of Arts in Music Business in 2009. Although classical is his main focus, his unique guitar style combines many different musical genres and his repertoire ranges from J.S. Bach to Eric Clapton, and just about everything in between.
Originally starting out as a rock guitarist, Charnis primarily played in a band setting. After discovering that the guitar could stand on its’ own as a solo instrument, similar to the piano, there was no turning back. By playing all of the voices at once, a skilled guitarist can truly bring any song to life, and that’s precisely what Austin does.
This free event is made possible, in part, by the Friends of the Desmond-Fish Public Library and the Putnam Arts Council’s Arts Link Grant Program, with public funds provided through the NY State Council on the Arts with support from Governor Andrew M. Cuomo and the NY State Legislature.
