Family Science Night: Great Potato Derby

Roll up, roll up! It’s Family Science Night’s great potato derby! Together, families will use our provided supplies to assemble the most spectacularly speedy spud, then race them to see which vehicular vegetable will be crowned top tuber. Along the way, we’ll look at what features make an ideal racing vehicle (starchy crop or not!) and the scientific principles behind them.

Family Science Night is the place for kids of all ages and their families to work together –– learning about science through sometimes slimy, sometimes spooky, sometimes explosive, but always FUN activities, crafts, and experiments!

Registration is required for this program, and the event is limited to fifteen racers. If your family will work on a single vehicle as a team, please register only once.

Please note: This event requires at least three attendees to run. If fewer than three participants have registered within 48 hours of the event, it will be postponed and participants will be notified via email. Registration opens 30 days before the start of the event.
