One Poem a Day Won’t Kill You returns for its annual month-long season this April! A podcasting partnership between the Desmond-Fish Public Library and the Highlands Current, a new episode is released each day during National Poetry Month, featuring community members in Philipstown, NY and Beacon, NY reading their favorite poems.

Want to be featured on the podcast? This year, each Tuesday evening in March, you can stop by the Desmond-Fish Public Library and record yourself reading a poem and receive a pickle in exchange! You can choose between a delicious individually-wrapped edible pickle (while supplies last) or a squishy pickle toy for infinite pickle-poem adventures.

A librarian can assist you in recording your poem in our pop-up recording booth, and suggested poems will be on hand if you need help choosing something to read. Readers may be of any age –– kids, teens, and adults are all welcome to read! Poems must be previously published works that are not of the reader’s own creation.
