On Monday, January 17th at 7 pm, join Goldee Greene and Tom McCoy for a musical celebration. This hour-long concert will feature music by Stevie Wonder, Bessie Smith, Eubie Blake, and George Frederick Handel. Ancient African-American spirituals, new music, and some old favorites to sing along with. Do not miss this joyous illustration of Dr. King’s enduring vision of freedom, justice, and peace for all.
Tom McCoy is a versatile pianist, arranger, and composer, moving seamlessly between the worlds of classical, jazz, theater, and pop. He has appeared on stage with James Taylor, Ray Charles, Natalie Merchant, Judy Collins, Kate Pierson, Garth Hudson, Robert Goulet, Lea Salonga, and many other celebrities. He has taught music and theater at SUNY New Paltz, Mount Saint Mary’s College, SUNY Dutchess, and Poughkeepsie Day School; he has recently lectured at Juilliard on jazz influences in classical music.
