2:00 pm - Spotting Winter Birds in Your Neighborhood – A Bird Identification Workshop

January 24, 2021 @ 2:00 pm - 3:00 pm

Is it a plane? Is it Superman? No, It’s a bird! But what kind of bird is it? The Putnam Highlands Audubon Society will join the Desmond-Fish Public Library for an interactive workshop on Sunday, January 24th at 2 pm titled Identifying Winter Birds – Know the Basics.
Environmental educator Pete Salmansohn will share his knowledge and help bird lovers 8 and up identify what they are seeing in their backyards, at feeders, and around town. He will cover all the basic elements of bird identification so that you’ll soon feel comfortable in figuring out just WHAT that bird is that you’re seeing.
You will need a set of pictures for the class. You will want them to be large so you can access them on a separate device at http://bit.ly/petesbirdpictures  or email Karen@desmondfishlibrary.org for the PDF’s to print or to pick up a printed set at the library.
