Tiny Talkers: Building Language Through Play

Parents, caregivers and their young ones are invited to this language workshop in collaboration with Cold Spring Speech Therapy. This circle-time hour will consist of songs, stories, free play and related activities embedded with focused speech strategies throughout. Parents and caregivers will have the opportunity to try out the strategies discussed and connect with Lauren Groth, licensed speech pathologist.

In this program, you’ll:

• learn how to connect and communicate more purposefully with your child
• learn how to use everyday toys and items you already have to build language with your child
• have access to a certified speech-language pathologist to learn evidence-based strategies and ask any questions 
• meet & build community with other parents of little ones

Specific strategies we will cover:

• how to follow your child’s lead to help them communicate what they care about
• how to get and maintain joint attention with your child
• providing a language rich environment
• early turn taking
• more, depending upon the needs of the group!

For ages 12 months to 2.5 years.
Due to the format and nature of this program, we are limiting the group to 15 parent/child pairs. Please register once for each caregiver/child pair.
