Youth Conversation on Confronting Bias and Advancing Social Justice Online
March 26, 2021 @ 4:00 pm - 5:00 pm
In this participant-guided conversation, local students aged 12 and up are invited to share their experiences with hateful conduct online and their ideas for fostering equity and justice in their digital spaces. Along the way, students will learn tools for good digital citizenship and leading their online communities toward racial, gender, and class justice in a supportive and fun atmosphere. Lead by Digital Services Coordinator Ryan Biracree and Teen Services Librarian Beth Vardy, this workshop will touch on topics from fostering dignity and respect to avoiding hate groups and microaggressions to ways to listen to marginalized voices. Participants should committed to sharing and enthusiastic about advancing racial and class justice.
