Digital Literacy Programs
The Innovation & Learning Center offers a wide variety of programming focused on developing the skills necessary to live and thrive in an increasingly online age. These encompass digital literacy programs, geared toward gaining competence and confidence in using digital tools; digital citizenship programs, focused on making safe and informed choices online; and digital wellness programs, emphasizing private, equitable, and affirmative use of technology. Our programming has a special focus on recognizing and combating misinformation, and on social media mental health and safety for families.
In 2026, join us on the second Thursday of each month for our Spotlight on AI lecture series, a monthly look at how this powerful and destabilizing technology is affecting both our day-to-day lives and the broader landscape of world events.

Youth Programming
We host two weekly, year-round drop-in afterschool programs (3:30pm-4:30pm):
On Mondays, kids and teens in grades 2-12 can practice their building skills, show off their creativity, make friends, and learn new techniques in LEGO Dream & Design. Each week features a creative challenge for builders to complete alongside introductions to advanced building techniques.
On Tuesdays, kids and teens in grades K-12 with at least some reading ability can play their favorite creative games like Minecraft, Animal Crossing, The Sims, Stardew Valley, Scratch, and more in a safe, supportive, and fun environment at our Creative Games Meetup. This meetup is only for noncompetitive games that allow players to show off their creativity, individuality, and teamwork.
We also offer monthly or bimonthly programs:
The last Thursday of each month, students in grades 3-8 can experiment, play, and pursue personal projects using our robotics materials, such as Lego Mindstorms and WeDo kits, Edison robots, Spheros, and more with instructor assistance at Robot Sandbox. While this is a no-commitment club, registration is requested so that materials can be prepared before arrival.
The last Tuesday of every other month, Family Science Night offers kids of all ages and their families a chance to work together – learning about science through sometimes slimy, sometimes spooky, sometimes explosive, but always fun activities, crafts, and experiments. Registration is required for this program.
STEAM Punks Camp
Now entering its ninth year, STEAM Punks Camp offers students in grades 3-8 a four-day-long, often absurd, adventure into creative problem solving and makerspace technology. Focusing on the intersection of technology and the arts, the STEAM Punks curriculum may explore design thinking, art making, robotics, coding, physical computing, storytelling, environmental science, A/V recording, photography, mind hacks, and more through creative and irreverent challenges assigned each day.
