Kids

Readers aged twelve and under can read books all summer long and win prizes, as well as earn raffle tickets for one of our grand prizes!

How it works:

  • When you sign up for the program, you receive a reading log. Each summer reading log contains 50 bubbles and each bubble represents 10 minutes. For every 10 minutes of reading time you complete, fill in 1 bubble (use a stamp, a sticker, or feel free to color it in). When you fill up all the bubbles on the sheet, return it to the library and show a library staff member. They will sign that they saw your sheet, return it to you if you want, provide you a new log, and then you will get to pick something out of the treasure chest. You will also fill out a raffle ticket and be entered to win one of our grand finale prizes. There are no limits to how many logs you can fill out and how many raffle tickets you can enter. A downloadable version of the reading log is available here in case you can’t make it to the library.
  • You may read whatever you would like: books, graphic novels, magazines, etc. If you are too young to read on your own, you can still participate by having someone read to you or with you.
  • The summer reading kickoff is Saturday, June 25 from 12-2pm. You can start bringing in completed logs on Monday, June 27. Completed logs will be accepted until Friday, August 12 at 4:30pm. The summer reading finale with Two by Two Animal Haven and Homestyle Creamery will take place on Friday, August 12 from 3-5pm. The raffle for the grand finale prizes will be drawn that day at 4:30pm. You do not have to be in attendance to win a prize. If your name is picked more than once, you will be given the first prize your name was drawn for and a second ticket will be picked.

Teens & Adults

Readers aged thirteen and up can read books all summer long and earn raffle tickets for a chance to win a grand prize.

How it works:

  • When you sign up for the program, you receive a reading log. On each line, enter the title and author of a book you have read. A downloadable version of the reading log is available here in case you can’t make it to the library.
  • Come periodically or at the end of the summer to show your reading log to a librarian. For each book completed, you will earn one raffle ticket toward a grand prize (there are separate prize sets for teen and adult readers).
  • To earn extra tickets, attend library events! Each event attended is worth one ticket – see a librarian to claim yours. You can also earn additional tickets by sharing your recommended reads with the community by filling out a Reader-To-Reader form.
  • Completed logs will be accepted until Friday, August 12th at 4:30pm. The summer reading finale with Two by Two Animal Haven and Homestyle Creamery will take place on Friday, August 12th from 3-5pm. The raffle for the grand finale prizes will be drawn that day at 4:30pm. You do not have to be in attendance to win a prize. If your name is picked more than once, you will be given the first prize your name was drawn for and a second ticket will be picked.
