6:00 pm - Family Science Night: Owl Pellets!

May 25, 2021 @ 6:00 pm - 7:00 pm

Do you love these large-eyed, mysterious predators of the night? Come learn about owls and take home some spooky souvenirs –– we guarantee you’ll have a hoot! It’ll be a free-for-owl finding all the hidden treasures of the owl pellet (a regurgitated mass of food that owls expel). Will you find bones, feathers, claws, teeth?

Luckily, you don’t have to do this owl by yourself! We will gather outdoors, and Digital Services Librarian Ryan Biracree will be talon you all about what you find in a guided dissection. In the case of bad weather, we won’t just wing it –– kits will be available and we will do the activity over Zoom. (We hope you enjoyed our howlarious puns).

This is an outdoor, socially-distanced program. Masks are required for all above the age of two, with no exceptions. Best for kids in grades 3 and up. A limited number of spots are available; please reserve yours by Wednesday, May 12th. Register here for this free event.
