Founded in 2018, The IT Club is a nationwide student-run 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to reducing global e-waste and bringing computers to underserved students to enable education opportunities. We prevent older and malfunctioning computers from becoming e-waste, and make technology accessible for students who otherwise wouldn’t have access to a computer.

The IT Club is dedicated to reducing the global e-waste problems and bringing computers to underrepresented students to enable learning opportunities. We aim to accomplish this by sharing our knowledge of STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) with middle school and high school students, providing free IT services to the community to repair, upgrade and refurbish computers to prolong the life of existing devices, and donating refurbished computers to underrepresented students. By teaching and providing free IT services to the community, we prevent outdated and broken computers from becoming e-waste, and make technology accessible for students who otherwise would not have access to a computer.

This program is lead by student Eamon Wall, New York Branch Director of the IT Club, and overseen by Digital Services Librarian Ryan Biracree.
